Yet my preference is the way it is at the moment - off-line application, solo play, with an ability to create on-line leagues. IMHO this is the best of all worlds.

Couldn't we have an iPhone version of OOTPX ?
I definitely see where OOTP online could improve the gameplay a lot. I find online leagues less fulfilling, but I'd feel different if the system (while it works well) were less 10-30 or whatever people working independently and submitting their work, but instead everyone having access to the database in real time. Drafts would be a million times easier to process, and I imagine trades could be as well.

Some thrive in online leagues because of the competetion factor, and in a more streamlined system I'm sure many of us single players would enjoy it more. I'll never stop playing single player though- I enjoy being in complete control of my universe too much.
