Look at online poker and sports gambling. This is one of the biggest markets in the world.
Ok so you have fun in your league thats cool, would you pay more attention if the world series brought you 500 dollars. HELL YEAH and dont say you wouldn't love it.

This is completely separate from my other reasons and I understand I'm probably fairly unique in this, but I have a big problem with chance gambling on moral grounds so, no, there's absolutely no way I'd participate in using OOTP to gamble. I'm sure plenty of others would however.
You'd be right in saying that I'd be interested in it, but that interest would solely be from an observer's point of view. The psychology of gambling interests me a great deal, but I'm certainly not about to throw away money I earn on a bet, especially if the outcome is largely out of my hands. If this were something like chess where there's no chance involved and I was pretty confident I would win then maybe you'd have me, but I'd still likely balk because then I'd feel bad for taking money away from someone and maybe even food out of their kids' mouths (this might seem like hyperbole, but I know first-hand what it's like to grow up with little on the table because a parent gambled everything they had away) who obviously didn't know better or just couldn't help themselves. But betting on the outcome of an OOTP league will all the randomness involved? No way. I don't have it in me whatever that condition is that possesses some people to do that.
Anyway, that's all getting a bit too off-topic, but my main point with it is you can't just assume that most or even much of the existing market would also go for OOTP Online. You do it well enough and I don't doubt it would be successful, but I do doubt most of us would switch to it.

How do we trust commishes to run a fair league now? Sure, money changes things for some people, but to some people money is just money. Maybe there's another reason why a league like that hasn't already taken off. If it really would be that popular, surely we would have seen one work for some time using old OOTP. I think we have plenty of trusted commissioners as it is. Could you really trust OOTP to make it where there'd be no way to cheat? Increasing security in old OOTP sure took a long enough time.
