Hmm, I remember there was once some talk about certain graphics cards not working well, but I think that was OOTP2006, not OOTP6. Since OOTP6 is like 5 years old now, though, maybe it's just not compatible with your newer graphics card. I don't know, it's just a guess.
As for the license error, that sounds like something you'd get if you're not connected to the internet. Maybe it just cut out at the wrong moment. You could contact
viatech about it.
