Entergy Park - New Orleans: for asaintsfan

In a previous post, asaintsfan asked for a ballpark with the Superdome in the background. I normally try to keep the city backgrounds somewhat generic-looking so they can be used for any city - however, I decided to give his request for a specific location a try. The result is Entergy Park - named for the large Fortune 500 energy corporation based in New Orleans. It is a retractable-roofed park with air conditioning for the days when the Big Easy get sticky. Built adjacent to the Superdome, Entergy Park shares parking facilities with the huge football facility. Distinctive features include the multi-level club seats in center and left center field and the huge banners in Mardi Gras colors that hang under the roof, and the Times-Picayune baseball-shaped clock on the right field scoreboard.

Undoubtedly, Entergy Park is going to have some of the best eats in the big leagues with jumbalya, gumbo, and shrimp creole but a few of the New Orleans signature dishes available in the upscale eateries at the park. The fans are known to be enthusiastic and loud, rooting for their hometown nine with the fervor of a college football crowd.

The ball carries well in Entergy Park when the roof is open and the fences are easily reached. When the roof is closed, the park takes on a more neutral tendency.

Capacity: 46,317

Left Field: 351
Left Center: 377

NOTE: If anyone is interested in this park with a less-recognizeable city backdrop, let me know and I will post a revised version, as well.)
