And there are probably at least a dozen guys in the majors right now that are just like him. It's really hard for me to get that fired up over it.
Patterson v2 might be good at some point, but I don't believe he's ready yet. As far as Theriot, I don't see how he's an improvement, except for his salary. Neifi is a career .270 and Theriot has not shown that he can hit anywhere close to that. It CAN get worse. Augie Ojeda, anyone?
You know, I've been thinking about this while I've been writing. And if the Cubs decide they are out of it anytime soon, then I agree with you 100%
As I said, Theriot hasn't shown anything, but he hasn't had much of a chance to. If the Cubs bail on the season, it's a perfect time to find out if he CAN play. In fact, if the Cubs become sellers, I'd say bring up Pie too and let's see what he's got.
I'm trying to think about the entire Cubs ML roster. I can't really come up with anyone that I really hate. I dislike Baker, but wouldn't go as far as hate. From what I can see, this years team seems to be a pretty good group of guys, for the most part. They just aren't a very good team.
