Minor leagues

Hi, just curious- in the game do the MLB teams have minor league affiliates or is it just the Reserve Roster?

I’m in 1983 and just have reserve team no minor league affiliates. Not a big deal...

Having issues, not finding the menu to protect players for the expansion draft. Keeps bringing me to the expansion draft, but not see the protection menu. Any help? Thank you
