Our #2 pitcher last year was an unexpected loss as he moved away in the offseason (I lost track of him. Not sure if he was draft eligible and I missed it but I thought he wasn't.) We're excited to have lots of players above the default 32. Ocon and Fischer are buried Freshman. Neither has the stamina to get out of the bullpen and it's rare for us to rely on relievers.

Brian Camby had a good offseason and camp and Flaherty ends up riding the bench despite being a starter last year. Jimenez looked very good as well and nearly took the catcher position from Roback. He'll bench for both catcher and first.

Armen Donahue will backup 2B and SS for days he's not pitching. That will give us options if a starter is tired.

We start our season in San Jose against the Paladins. It's Armen Donahue vs Logan Richardson. Logan Richardson scouts at a 30 which is worse than our entire pitching core. We hope we can really shell him.

Rick Mitchell has a 32-game hitting streak carrying over from last year. He's out 4-3. Rene Hernandez is also a 4-3 out. Meiman carries over a 23-game hitting streak and draws a walk. Weston trails 0-2 but singles up the middle. Meiman takes 2nd. Roback hits another 4-3 ball and is out. MacIntosh getting quite a workout at that 2nd base position. Bengals get nothing and leave two.

MacIntosh pop flies to 7. Guerber. Full Count. 6-3. Batista walks on 5. Fisher full count, loses him. Sweatt down on 3-pitches as he swings at one outside.

Peloquin single to RF. Kraft beats out a 3-1 throw. Canby pop fly 8. Donahue has a 2-RBI double to center right. Doesn't take third on the throw home. Mitchell pop flies 8. Hernandez 4-3. It's 2-0 Bengals as the pitcher generates his own offense.

Mitchell pops out 6. Hernandez grounds out, 4-3. Meiman pop fly 4.

Hauck gone on a changeup for strike three. Sloan 3-pitch strikeout taking. Hull works a full count into a walk. Dyals singles up the middle. Hull takes 3rd and Dyals takes 2nd on the throw to third. Lillegard is hit by pitch. Mound visit. Donahue wants. He gets Cyrus with a knuckle curve. They load the bases but get out of the jam.
