Same as last year, sign a free agent only to lose them to waivers days later

Signed Blake Snell as a free agent, lost him to waivers three days later. This happened last year as well.

I don't really understand how that could happen.

Are you not fully controlling the team? Can you walk us through just how you set the league up and what GM options etc you've selected?

Another example. Signed Bell and Bader in the off season and they are automatically DFA? Lost Bell on a waiver claim 2 days later.

What actions are you taking with the players after you sign them? Are you immediately putting them on your Secondary roster?

This seems like a process issue somewhere in how you are handling them in which they are ending up on waivers.

no, i use a mac and have tried to follow the directions to extract but i cant get it to work

Just did a trade to see what happens. It automatically DFA the player.

We can't recreate this, even in Challenge Mode

Can you walk us through exactly what you do with Snell after he signs? What buttons you press, where you drag and drop him etc.

When you trade or sign a player, they are placed on the DFA list as a holding spot. But they should not be placed on waivers automatically.

Are you activating them on to your roster after signing/trading for them?

not doing anything. I get the notification that they signed and then i go to the roster screen and try moving them to a roster and it says they need to clear waivers. Here is another example. I try to get the files for you guys to look at but i cant find the .lg file in finder

To find the .lg folder, go to the start screen > settings > troubleshooting > then click the button to 'open folder containing saved games'.

Happening to me as well. Every free agent signing gets immediately DFAd. Happened on last years version as well. Playing as GM only.

Are you in challenge mode too?

Essentially, when you acquire a free agent, they're typically designated for assignment, but strangely, they're also subjected to waivers. It's somewhat disruptive to the game mechanics.

It's not supposed to happen, but the thing is when we test this, it doesn't happen. So the folks seeing this are setting up their leagues differently than we are somehow, which is why I've been asking for more specific info on just how they are getting set up.
