Repost of the old thread that started out as WHA facegens, then turned into all the historical NHL facegens, too...maybe I can finally get them to sticky this, lol.

I've been trying to collect all the facegens from the great facegen makers here on the FHM forums, as well as ones I've made myself from playing the game. The result?




This ongoing project includes:

Every NHL player from 1917-18 to the 2021-22 season, except for a few from the early days for whom no photo could be found. Almost every PCHA and WCHL player, too!

Every player in the history of the WHA!

Nearly every coach in NHL and WHA history! Ones who played in the NHL or WHA are included as players, while ones who didn't play in the big leagues are in a separate file linked below.

GMs, owners, several minor league and Euro league lifers and draft picks who never made it to the big leagues! (These can only be found in the main file for now, and only contains facegens from the 1920s and 1970s/80s, but I will add more probably make separate files for them later on).

I realize some of the old-timers and cup-of-coffee guys may not be the best quality, so if you think somebody needs an upgrade, please tell me, or feel free to make your own and I'll place it in the folder.

As mentioned before, this is an ongoing project. These files include every player in NHL history, or at least every one a workable picture can be found for. Thanks, and enjoy!

I will probably take a look at historical non-NHL Canadian players next. I'm hoping there's not many that didn't play NHL, or that have not been covered already. I'll go back to other nations after that.

One annoying thing is that FHM currently has separate tables for players and coaches, so their careers sometimes overlap, but the facegens are the same for both. Obviously 18 year-old Punch Imlach the player is going to look a lot different to 60 year-old Punch Imlach the coach, so it would be nice if FHM eventually had different facegen folders for players and staff.

Yeah, the coaches who played thing gets weird that way. I just decided to include playing-days era photos as much as possible, but I’d be glad to take requests for coaching versions of some of those guys if anybody wants them.

Just curious, does this set include the ones done from jh95 or are all of these re-created by you? I am merging some mods and trying to figure out what to delete, override, combine etc lol!

Also being a fellow Michigander in this set you have Taro Hirose as "Taro Hinose" just as an FYI!

Yep, this includes all of his stuff, Pontuzza’s, and several others. Sort of the Collected Works of the Facegen Masters.

I’ll fix Taro when I get home tonight. Not sure if that one was mine or somebody else’s.

Found another, in the database they have it as Jakub Vrana, however the faceted file is Jakub Vrána. (I wish they would do away with all those, it just complicates things)

Vrana...with those kinds of things, it's usually somebody's else's facegen. I never use those accent mark thingamabobs or whatnot. I just kind of left them in, because it would be a pain to rename 'em all, and for every person who hates those accent jobbers, there's somebody else who likes 'em, so...

Hirose, I just screwed up. Burned the midnight oil way too late making some of these, so I'm shocked I haven't heard about more foul ups.
If you see any others, let me know.

I replaced them both in the 2020-21 to 2029-30 file and the main file. Here they are so you won't have to sort through those.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I created some missing facegens for some future superstars in the NHL.
Connor Bedard, Matvei Michkov and Michael Misa. I also included a facegen I created for the Youtuber Nasher. I am a facegen noob so excuse the quality.

Am I correct in thinking that there is a better way to mass import these into an existing game versus having to 'regenerate pic' on every single player?

Is there a 'cached' folder of the default facegens I can just delete and it will auto replace with all of these?

Delete the pics in player_pics and personnel_pics inside the graphics folder in your save game.

Then next time you open a player or coach profile the new facegen pic will be used.

Odd. Ludzik appears in both the 1980s debut and main folders on my end.
