Is training players at new positions considered tanking

If Im in PL or DL and clearly not going to win or be in the playoffs and I want to use the time to train the current players who are now on the roster (so not talking replacing with Iron, Bronze, Silvers) at other POSs for next season options, am I going to get a warning?

I'm sure it wouldn't be as long as it makes some sense. Training a guy with an arm of 1 in RF would certainly sound like tanking and not training a guy where you want to play him.

No, if you use some common sense. Last year, as an example, I trained Luis Aparicio to be a 1b, 2b, and 3b as well as his native SS. He was the ultimate non-hitting utility guy, and it allowed me to fudge an extra roster spot where I was weak.

As was mentioned, as long as its for a position they can be trained up and isn't attempting to train up a player who obviously will not fit into that position like moving a RF with no infielder skills to SS, than you're golden. Anytime I know I'm not going to be in contention for a playoff spot, I take a look at my team and see if there is a way I can improve for next season. Doing this with up to two players would be fine in my book, but I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing a team trying to retrain their entire infield at one time as relegation time gets closer. Also, anytime you retrain a player to a new position you have to weigh the effect it will have on any pitchers you are in the process of evaluating as well since they will most likely give up more hits than usual during that process.
