Play-by-play issues + another thing

Enjoying managing games out more than I have before, but the play-by-play needs some work. I often see an outfielder or even the third baseman named as the player who is safe at third when the runner is going for third and there's a throw. Seems something in whatever code looks up the player name is off.

Also, seeing "O for 3" instead of "0 for 3" bugs me more than it probably should. Should be "0'fer" instead of "O'fer" too right? Or am I just failing at English?

Now for something completely different.

When playing as manager only, it would be nice if the GM would tell me he'd put guys on DFA. Playing as the Rangers, in the early going my bullpen keeps getting messed up when the GM wants to run guys through waivers/DFA but doesn't tell me. Not the worst thing in the world but it's annoying.

1 - Waiting on Matt to fix this issue.

2 - This is a concession to those who use TTS. "oh for 4" sounds better than "zero for 4."

Ah, had not considered this aspect. Makes complete sense then.

Also good to hear #1 is being worked on.

I wish they'd get a Ernie Harwell style professional voice to voice the games....it would make it so much cooler. But I am sure they'd have to pay good money for that. As a radio guy. I would love to hear professional radio voicing.

Standard union rates for voice over in a video game is about $200 an hour.

So depends on how many hours they could get it down to. But I bet $5k could get it done.

Guess there is non union ways. Like say hiring someone from broadcasting school as an independent contractor. If pro's are only getting $200 even on billion dollar games should be able to get a broadcast trainee under $100 an hour I would figure.

I believe the union you are referring to is SAG.
I don't believe the vast majority of Baseball radio announcers belong to that union.
If I am right, the price per hour is negotiable.

Yea but real voice overs actors are still an option its their profession. A lot different from a real broadcast. Its all about repetitions. So would depend who could perform the job better.

Either way I think it could be done for $5k.
