World Series Champions March Madness

In the spirit of March Madness, I decided to create a tournament with 64 World Series winners to determine who the best one was. I'll post results here periodically.

Notes:
-Every series is best of 7
-Seeding was determine by regular season win %
-To keep from having too many repeated teams and keep the field at 64, if a team won multiple championships in a short timespan, I only selected the year where their regular season win % was the best.

I've also started a 32-team tournament like this using historical exhibition for each 7-game series. Frankly, I'm disappointed in that of the 12 individual series I've played 7 have been clean sweeps and 3 others have only gone 5 games. In addition, two number 1 seeds (1929 A's and 1939 Yankees) were easily defeated by number 8 seeds. Also, great players like DiMaggio, Gehrig and Wagner have been terrible. I hope things improve when I start the round of 16.
