Minors & Draftees in Historical Leagues
Why are there nearly no minor league players in historical leagues? I'm not talking ancient historical leagues. I started with the 2008 Pirates. Along with this, the draft years are inaccurate. IRL, Andrew McCutchen was drafted in 2005 by the Pirates out of high school, but he is not in the Pirates system in 2008. As a matter of fact, he is available in the 2008 draft as a 21 year old college player. I wanted to start a historical league with the depleted system that Neal Huntington took over with, but it shouldn't be THIS depleted. Did I just set things up wrong or is OOTP really not capable of this?
Thanks! |

There is no historical minor-league player database, so OOTP cannot create a historical game with RL minor leaguers.
The reason McCutchen shows up in 2008 is because that is the year he made his MLB debut (off the top of my head, haven't looked it up or anything). This is normal with the built-in database, but you can get one that uses their professional debut (at any level) instead. I think it's the Gambo-Spritze database. |
