What is the difference in forums?

What is the difference between this forum and the Steam forum?

I don't frequent the steam forums, but my guess is these boards have a broader demographic of users. For instance, there are plenty of people here who have been OOTP players before steam even existed. Many of us didn't even want to use steam when OOTP first came out on it because its reliability at the time was unknown. My guess is the people who are on the steam boards are more the people who found OOTP through steam, which is probably only a small portion of the overall userbase.

I'd say this is pretty accurate. I found OOTP through Steam but most of my questions are answered here. Having said that, I found the answer to a problem I was having on the Steam forum that I couldn't find here. I follow both. Cheers!

Forums are always very useful to me. It always makes me happy to read about the most recent developments and problems, like this SSSniperwolf merchandise. I've always found the forum communities to be more appealing.
