United States Baseball Association (1871 - )

This dynasty is based off of the USBL Promotion Quickstart.

I wanted to sim a Promotion/Relegation game using real players from baseball history. The plan is to create a "site" based on the FDHC-English Football League. There will be the main post that will have links to each season of the two main leagues.

Each season for the USBL and it's ILPBC feeder will contain the changes from the previous year, the current year's standings, the current year's awards, and the changes for the next season.

The dynasty will eventually include all 96 teams from the Promotion Quickstart, as well as other teams to fill out the rest. The goal is to end up with five major tiers of twenty teams each and then the Independent leagues with four divisions of twenty teams each for a dynasty total of 180 teams.

Teams will be added based on the coordinates of existing MLB teams from year to year until around 1934 when chartered flights will open up all fifty states to establish association teams.

Players will be manually imported/created each season. The number of players created will be based on a calculation taking the number of total teams and the number of new teams into consideration. The calculation will be the number of teams times five and the number of new teams times twenty-five.

All available real players (Including Minor and Negro leagues) will be imported, then fictional players will be generated to fill the remaining quota. For instance, In 1871 for sixteen teams, 480 players (16 *25) + (16 * 5) were calculated. 115 real players were imported and 365 fictional players were created.

All players for all teams (existing and new) will be signed as free agents. All drafts have been disabled.

Schedules for all "divisions" use versions of this schedule based on the number of teams in the division. The full schedule goes from March 20th and end on October 31st.

There are no minor league affiliates. All teams have a roster size of 25 and an unlimited reserve roster.

All Major Leagues can trade with each other.

There are no playoffs.

Each League will promote 2 teams and relegate 2 teams. Once I get to full capacity, I am going to have the bottom Major League relegate 4 teams and the four division winners from the Independent leagues will be promoted.

United States Baseball Association Overview

United States Baseball Association

The United States Baseball Association of Professional Baseball Clubs was formed on December 26, 1870 when representatives of sixteen professional baseball clubs met at Collier’s Café on Broadway in New York. These are the rules that were agreed on:
  • The teams would be split into two competitive divisions based on each teams location. The eight teams in each division would play each other eight times, splitting four games at home and four games away.
  • The team in each division with the most wins would be considered the champion of that division.
  • The Season would start on March 20th and end on October 31st each year.
  • Teams can sign players to monetary contracts for up to 15 years.
