Looking at haubs35's file, the first thing that jumps out to me is that they are managing two teams. An MLB team and a World Cup team.
I honestly didn't realize that was possible. No idea if it is a factor in this issue, but something to point out that is different than a typical save. Will look it over some more. |

I sent this in last year hoping it would be fixed. Supported the game agian this year only to see it happen again in the Beta. I just started a new franchise hoping this would be fixed and it has not. I sent league files in and I am more than willing to have one of the developers remote into my computer to show them. I just signed a player to lose them to waivers. This is beyond frustrating. Please reach out.

One reason a player is DFA, is because if they have a major league contract, and you have no room on your active ML roster, then they go into the "DFA" category as part of the roster update process. You must then manually assign the player to a team within your organization. It has 10 days to move a DFA. It's actually impossibly easy to avoid anything like this Waiver problem to happen. The moment your trade is completed, or your player signs a contract from free agency, immediately add them to your Major League roster. This removes them from DFA status, within their 10 days, and your problem is solved. As for Waivers, that's different. There should not be a reason a player should be waived the moment they are signed. That has to be either in your league settings (which I can't imagine a reason why it ever would be) or that itself is the problem here. Waivers are 3 days generally, so this would be assumed that they're instantly waived upon signing. That can't be right. But it would again be avoided if added to the roster the moment they sign their contract. As suggested by the dev, as well, how much active roster control do you have over this team? If you have full player control this would not happen as well, but if the AI has control over your roster changes, then that would play a MAJOR impact on the way your day-to-day team operations work. This would cause you to have to severely increase your oversight over your franchise's operations, to make sure the AI doesn't do anything incredibly retarded like this. That would absolutely be the first place I would say to start. Remove the AI from your franchise's roster control decisions. Then you'll have better control over your roster, and a TON less headache like you're having, and have a hundred different things function more the way you want them to. But start with your DFA problem, get them on your roster, and don't advance a week with them on the DFA (like is in your image, where it says "5 days left"), and things like that. You definitely don't want to simulate further after making a trade or a FA signing without making sure they are where they should be on your roster. I hope this helps clarify a few things, and maybe help find the problem? I don't know a thing about "Challenge Mode", I like to play my games where I have a bit more control over their outcomes, so I'm not pulling out my hair like you're doing. I wish you good luck, I hope you find your solution. But from the images you've posted, I think imo, your first place to look is your team & league settings. |

You still need to add them to your active roster, which will add them to the 40-man by default. Don't forget to make sure your roster is not full. I really think understanding these mechanics will assist with your playability and eliminate a majority (maybe not all) of your problems & frustrations. Keep posting, and it'll be sorted out, we'll narrow things down and see if this is in fact a bug, or a setting. |

Thanks for replying.
I have tried all of the above to no avail. I have tried adding them to the 40 man, secondary 40 man and have even dropped players from my 26 and all I get is a pop up saying that the player has to clear waivers first. I even simulated a day and tried all of the above, to no avail. I am asking to have the development team remote into my computer so I can show them. |

Offseason rules are different than spring training rules or regular season rules, and these images you have linked definitely look to me like you're in the offseason when you're doing these roster changes. Does this also happen during the regular season, and can you post a listing of your league settings as far as roster changes are concerned? Preferably on how they are handled during the offseason, if that is where the problem is? |

okay the SECOND video is EXTREMELY helpful.
SO this isn't a "WAIVERS" thing, developers. This is "IRREVOCABLE Waivers". Which is a completely different thing. This is full DFA here, not the standard roster management DFA. Irrevocable waivers means you intend to RELEASE this player if they are unclaimed. Now if they are DFA THIS way upon adding them to the roster, then THAT is why they are instantly waived. So this is a completely different situation than any of us initially expected. While you're here, please check your league settings for me, and look specifically at the DFA rules. I'll post a screen shot of my league, for what I want you to show me in a moment, once I load into my franchise menu. Edit: I cannot find a way on my franchise that could hint at why a roster addition can trigger an Irrevocable Waivers scenario. This is something new, and this is the quintessential detail the developers want to see. This video will be the defining part of your problem, and not something I can further assist you with. Thank you so very much for this video. Additionally, the 3rd is not relevant. Just FYI. But the 3 videos you just posted moments ago? These are what the developers have been wanting to see, it gives an insight into your problem not before known. --------------------------------------- FOR DEV TEAM: Here's what you want to see. This is a roster acquisition that is somehow triggering an Irrevocable Waivers condition, as in a "Demotion" DFA scenario. If I DFA someone that has used up their 3 minor league options, then I have 10 days to trade them or release them from the organization. That's the Irrevocable Waivers DFA rule. How an Irrevocable Waivers can be triggered upon a roster acquisition is not an option in the league settings menu, that is why you are not able to create a like condition in your attempts to repeat this scenario yourselves. No condition like this exists. Now we have an understanding as to the "HOW". ---------------------------------------- Good luck with this. If it is doing it on multiple franchises, then I suggest you set up a stream going through your full league creation process for us. Maybe then we can help determine if it keeps happening? |

I select New Game>New Standard Game> No to challange (although it does it in both modes)>Select MLB under select leagues>Select my team and change it to GM only under play mode> start game.
Then under GM settings I do this. |
