Worst luck

I love the PTCS idea/format and everything they've done this year with tourneys. One of the best aspects of PT23. But, dammit, my luck has been awful in the tourneys. I only placed one time in the 16 PTCS tournaments I played in

Purely based on random odds, I should have placed four times (and I should have had slightly higher odds than that considering the rosters I fielded).

And that was an 8th place finish or something, nothing great. Lost in the 1st round like 5 times, lost in the 2nd round another 10 times, lol (one of each today).

My bad luck has been in the playoffs. I should obviously have taken advantage of the Wild Card bump, because finishing first ain't what it's cracked up to be. I can't count the number of times my teams have been knocked out by the distant second-place finisher in my division.

I picked live Arenado for Call Your Shot yesterday because Dish had a perfect pack and only 30 packs overall.

He pulls NON-live Arenado from the perfect pack.

My bad luck had hilariously come from missions this year. That is the way I am normally able to build a competent F2P team. But this year I just haven't been able to do the missions. I had gone offline for a while there but even before I left, the missions have just been impossible for me this year.

(And I'm someone who normally is able to do most of the top missions each year, e.g. BAL and FOTF in '21 and TM, PPs and Franchise Heroes in '22)

That's because the missions are incredibly hard this year. Even the ones rewarding only packs have ridiculous bottlenecks that aren't worth chasing. It's best to ignore them entirely, unless you enjoy wasting points and rewarding those who gouge.

I agree, but missions are in my opinion, aside from tournaments, the best way to build your team normally. This year is an exception unfortunately.

+100... a lot of the missions this year are high point/time intensive, w/ low rewards.

The only times I've been able to complete missions have been as the result of pulling a BUNT card and selling it for an outrageous price.
