Please Check Draft Order in Custom Leagues

I have two different custom leagues that I play and the draft order is never what I think it should be in either of them.

In my most recent season, the team that finished next to last in the overall standings is picking 15th in the draft. They made no trades involving their 1st round pick.

The team that finished with the 5th worst record is drafting 16th (no trade here either).

This league is a 30 team league. My other custom league that had similar issues is a 26 team league. If it is relevant, the 26 team league originated in FHM6, imported to 7, imported to 8. The 30 team league started in FHM7 and was imported to 8.

My first thought was maybe they lost the lottery, (but you might not even be using a lottery in custom), plus it seems like too far to fall... Hope you get some help getting it sorted.

A draft lottery is how I "Justify" it, but I don't think there is a draft lottery in custom games. If there is, I would have expected a news item about a team winning the draft lottery

That may be a very old issue I remember with the custom draft order in a previous version of the game. We're making some changes to the lottery for historical and custom games in the next update, but if you can upload that save I'd like to take a look and make sure that'll fix it.

Ok. I uploaded one of the leagues, The file is called PHA.lg.zip. Thanks for looking at it

Looks like it did have its origins in an old bug with the draft order that existed when the save was originally created. The upcoming update won't fix it, but what does seem to produce better results is expanding the league by a couple of teams - after I did that, the first draft following the expansion still had some issues, but it started producing normal results in the season after that.

Thanks for looking into this I may not be playing this save again until FHM9. Do you think I will still have this issue after I import into FHM9?

Without the expansion, most likely yeah. The draft order file won't be changed by any updates to the game.
