Tonight is the second game in the series in Houston between the Colt .45's and the Milwaukee Braves. The Braves have won three straight after crushing the Colt 45's in the series opener.

Houston Colt .45's LF Jim Pendleton announced he will retire at the end of the season.

Johnson was perfect through three.

In the top of the fifth, Mathews led off with a two-base hit for the Braves first baserunner of the game. The Braves went on to load the bases with one out. Tommie Aaron grounded into the 5-2 fielder's choice for the second out. Then the pitcher Lemaster grounded to third and the game remained a scoreless tie.

After six: Milwaukee 0 Houston 0.

In the top of the seventh, the Braves loaded the bases with two out. Johnson then was called for a balk and the first run of the game had finally been scored.

In the bottom of the ninth, Aspromonte delivered a game-tying run-scoring single. With runners at first and second and nobody out, Don McMahon took the mound for the Braves. A walk loaded the bases with nobody out. After Smith struck out, Merritt Ranew came in to pinch hit. With the count 1-1, McMahon uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Mejias to score the winning run.

Final score: Houston 2 Milwaukee 1.
