Draft Picks

Anyone else notice that the draft by default, seems way too overloaded with talent that develops far too quickly? I'm in my second season and I've started seeing the top draft picks from the previous year pop up in the major league already, which is so unrealistic. The number one pick from the previous year is already rated 4 stars, with 5 star potential and is dominating the league. My first draft pick at number 28, is already at AAA and dominating. This obviously doesn't happen in real life, as prospects take years to properly develop in the minor leagues first.

I'm aware you can change the settings for players in the draft, but I've never played around with them before so I'm nervous I'll stuff it up. Has anyone had any experience with this and made the draft a bit more realistic?

I haven’t tried this myself, but have you - or anyone - tried changing the batter and pitcher development speeds in Player Development Settings? (MLB>League Rules & Settings>Global [advanced view]). You can also adjust aging speed for batters and pitchers. Default values are 1.000; I’m not sure what kind of adjustment it would take to make a difference in the rates of prospect development. Maybe tweak it gradually?
