What would you do with 500,000 PP?

As the title asks, what would you do with 500,000 PP?

I have 500K for the first time ever (FTP) and I'm not sure what I should do. I had some pretty good players that didn't really fit the theme I was going for (1961-1992) and the team was just idling in gold so I auctioned them off. But now I'm not sure if I should focus on completing missions or going back to filling out the theme or something else. I dabbled in missions recently, but I quickly realized you're spending more completing missions than what the rewards are worth so there's not much point. I guess the game now becomes a bit of both, finding decent deals in both and passing on the rest? I'm not that caught up in climbing the ranks, I more like collecting cards.

What about you, what are your goals with the game?

As completing the missions I particularly wish to has currently become an exercise in frustration rather than entertainment, I think I would just use it to buy back some of the players I've sold only very reluctantly in the past. I suppose my game objective, insofar as I have one, is to reach the Perfect league (*). Just once; I have no illusions about competing there. And to do so without resorting to leftie cheese and such.

I would be much more interested in collecting for collecting's sake if the cards themselves held more interest. As is, what's the attraction of just a name attached to a random generic picture?


(*) After which, if it ever happened, I'd probably sell up everything, fill out the gaps in the MLB Live roster, and play my best team from that. I'm just curious to see how many levels they would fall before becoming competitive.

Definitely wait for Thursday. I’m not sure how far you are in the missions. It is very difficult to complete all missions unless you start early in the season or have a ton of money to drop on the game. Assuming you are not in a position to complete all missions, I’d say to have fun with your theme team. There are a number of missions with rewards that fall into your date range so target those…after we find out what is dropping on Thursday night.

I'd buy 25 packs 20 times. Then sell all of the cards I don't need and start over. I'm FTP and have been buying packs and sellsing cards I don't need or duplicates since I pulled a SIlver King on day 1.

There is just one more live update remaining in the cycle, and it's probably the best chance anyone has to make some coin.

One of those that makes me shrug my shoulders. I've held enough of those cards at one time or another to get him, but have been forced to sell to make progress, and they had no immediate use. Just the risk you take. It looks a great card, but barring a few very lucky drops unobtainable for me. The current cost makes completing the Eppa Rixey route look cheap ��.

Not a bad night overall, though. I had the cards for half of the missions, and a lucky pull from a reward card gave me another. Mauer looks a viable catcher, and I'm trialling Medwick as an alternative for Raines in LF against lefties.

P.S. As I type I see Maddux is next up. For once, I've set the roster for one game; Mauer, Musial, Robinson, Franco, Appling, Rose, DiMaggio, Charleston and Gehrig. If that lot can't score a few, it's probably time to give up ��

When is the final live update? Thought it would be today. Maybe next Monday? Sitting on some Juan Soto and Bryce Harpers. Also curious to see where Vlad Jr. ends up.

I had some decent luck early and sold off a few good cards, saved the cards I thought would go up in the next live update (got fairly lucky with the Shoheis) and sold as many duplicates as possible when Thursday missions dropped. I have finished the missions and have I think that are the best attainable ones but the variance on the players is so great week to week that I can't figure out what more I need to do.

One thing you could do is buy a bunch of packs now, wait for Thursday and sell off the missions ones you have doubles of and hopefully you'll also have all or most of the missions completed by the time they come out. That way you'll also be set for Monday's update - this way you'll have many of the new top cards, a chance at getting lucky in the packs and get all those points right back to wonder what to do next week.

Ahh! Very interesting. So you guys compare the stats of players between live updates eh? That's smart! It doesn't sound all that fun to me so I don't think I'll ever bother, but it's definitely interesting! There have been a few times where I thought a player was severely underrated then later they were much closer to where I thought they should be. I didn't think to invest in them though, or that their updated ratings would eventually catch up with their stats.

Where do you find out when live updates will be? I suppose it's discord or something like that.

One thing I've always wondered is those red/green arrows on player cards, I understand that they must signify how much a player has gone up or down, but is it compared to the start of the season or the previous update?

The updates were coming out the final Monday of every month. The final update is later than normal because its the end of the season. The arrows are compared to the start of the season ratings
