Strategy not being executed by the AI
I have a fully exhausted catcher, S.Perez, why isn't he being subbed with R. Perez?
My settings: ![]() My settings being ignored: ![]() I also have various other sliders for things like pinchhitting, baserunning, and so on, but I'm checking the game logs, and I'm not seeing it. Is there something that's overriding my settings?

Baez played LF, so couldn't play 3B, R. Perez was the next sub at 3B and played in place of a tired Donaldson and wasn't available to catch. That explains this particular game, don't know what happened in previous games.
Try using "Every X Game", for your Utility 2 players rather than "If Starter Tired" and don't have your backup catcher as a backup at 4 positions.

Keep choices simple for the AI manager. Only a few positions will need something other than a "if starter tired" setting except with very long stretches. or, some other context that demands it. Getting a rookie some PA, protecting a fragile player etc...just keep it simple or the AI probably won't implement what you intended. worry about shaping the most important decisions.
I wouldn't use "if starter tired" with your catcher position in just about all contexts except if you reduced position player fatigue in setting. Start watching how long it takes -- first cycle with day off, 2nd cycle etc..during a longer stretch of games without a day off. the more complicated parts below only apply if trying to maximize GS for your C. Probably won't see the degredation of starting stamina after a day off i speak of below, otherwise. you'll find you can gain a game played and/or play at a higher averaged Rested% when you are slightly proactive during long stretches of games. Let's say the first cycle he goes 5 games before he hits a threshold % you pick. The second cycle is doable, but starting 3rd cycle he's not at 100% to start as before... (possibly this occurs on 4th cycle.) ... if you see that that degredation of starting stamina <100% after a day off, then determine when it impacts # of games played during a cycle -- can predict future stamina 20-30 games out with no problem and map out best course of action to maximize C starts and avg. rested %. The manager can be trusted to pick an 'empty' utility 2 position on depth chart... rarely is there a difficult decision - splitting hairs between two pine-riders doesn't amount to much. If there's some sort of reason to play him elsewhere, you'll have to take a more proactive role in ensuring he is available as your catcher tires. Last edited by NoOne; 04-05-2021 at 05:01 PM. |

I have seen an issue like this and found I had selected use 7 day lineups and not set it to clear after use. The 7 day did not have a rest day for my catcher and the 7 day overruled use when tired.
