My rig is Windows 7

I guess I need a new pc before I can play it. So I will be sticking to ootp 21 at least for the near future. This really sucks.

REALLY???
I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64bit too and to be honest I did not check any requirements until now...
And in Steam page it says "Win 8/10".
And I already preordered...!!!

Can someone confirm that Win7 is really not usable???

I can't think of any changes which would make the game unusable on Win7 x64, but the OS is past end of life so it might make sense to stop supporting it.

Yeh, I know.
But makes no sense for me to just update to Win10 with my old PC.
But money needs to be saved for some home repairs first... :-(

Win7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, so it makes no sense for game developers to support it. The upgrade to Win10 is free (still, I think? They will sure try to make dosh by harvesting your data though).

Whether the game would run on 64bit-Win7 system nobody knows. It should definitely not run on a 32bit system.

But it makes no sense to me cause that would mean to reinstall all my stuff which will take ages...
And the onthe-fly update will not workly correctly I suppose.
So probably I'll have to refund my preorder and wait until I buy a new PC system... :-( :-( :-(

You don't have to reinstall anything. It's almost like a patch (pretty big one though, takes a while). If *I* managed to update my system, anybody can.

No I updated to it just fine man. It takes an hour or two and is non destructive. I did not need to save anything. Ootp 21 works great. Microsoft.com obviously and search for Windows 10 update.

You can upgrade to Windows 10 without it being a true "clean install". You're given the option at the start of the installation process to either upgrade your current system, which should keep all of your data, or do a custom install, through which a clean install can be performed.

I always suggest a clean install myself, but if you don't want to have to back up all your data first and reinstall everything later, the upgrade should work fine. I would suggest backing up anything important first, though, just to be safe.

By the way, does anybody know the minimum system requirements and recommended requirements for OOTP 22? Can't seem to find it. Thanks.

I don't think that's accurate, because OOTP 22 is going to be 64 bit this year.
I also wouldn't be surprised if it ran just fine on Win 7. As recently as I think OOTP18, I was still running it on an old Windows Vista laptop.

64 bit is definitey confirmed, Perhaps there will be 32 and 64 bit exe?

and thats what I hope for my Win7 Pro 64bit and that they just don't mention it cause Win7 support is cancelled by Microsoft...

Because Windows 7 isn't supported by Microsoft anymore, we can't technically guarantee that it will operate without issue.
