Tips for bidding on June international Amatuers

I’m in a online league and this year there are 3 guys that are OSA 70 FV in the intl FA field (1 stud SP and 2 3B’s with big bats). Since we can bid a max of 5 mill on them, it seems like basically a total crapshoot for who gets who. I’ve never had much luck in 4 seasons, any tips on how to be more successful?

If you go to offer them a deal, they may give you a hint. If they say "I really like your organization" then there's a better chance they might sign with you, although it's possible they like someone else too and may still sign there.

I just pick the best player and bid $5M. Maybe not the most economical, but every 2-3 years, I get a gem of a player

I've found that upping the number of international amateurs available improves this aspect of the game. Do 4 per team (so for standard MLB, 120), and that way offering the best player $5m is no longer necessarily the best option, because there will be many good player available.

It seems like any guy I've offered the full $5M to ends up taking it, I don't think I've had anyone turn down my full-price offer for another team. Finally got to where in the previous season I played I passed on the top-rated July 2 guy since I didn't want to monopolize the market on them.

(Of course now he's the #7 prospect in baseball and the guy I signed the year before, a pitcher, keeps getting dinged in every successive scouting report I get).
