The odds of Clyde Moore cracking the rotation were never high, but giving up six runs in under four innings surely didn't help his cause.

LP - Clyde Moore (0-1)

Spring Record - 4-2

Not only did Alex Burgos lead the Jays to a 2-1 win over the Astros, but the Toronto bullpen has yet to give up an earned run this Spring!

Victor Vazquez homered for the Jays.

Jose Suarez left the game with a sore shoulder. It is not believed to be serious.

WP - Alex Burgos (1-1)
Save - Patrick Brown (1)
LP - Vin Mazzaro (0-1)

Spring Record - 5-3

We jinxed it. After Brad Boxberger gave up the first earned run by a Toronto reliever he said, "There was a lot of pressure on the younger guys. I gave one up to take it off them. It is called leadership."

The Jays lost 5-1 to the Red Sox.

Daniel Vogelbach homered for the Jays.

WP - Mike Wright (1-1)
Save - David Goodwin (1)
LP - Pedro Hernandez (1-1)

Spring Record - 5-4

The Blue Jays thumped the Tigers, beating them 10-3.

Pierce Johnson had a nice start and Toronto saw homers from Brian Goodwin, Clark O'Rorke, and Joey Holloway.

Santiago Gomez came off the field at the end of the game looking a little worse for wear. Word is that he will be fine.

WP - Pierce Johnson (2-0)
LP - Desmond Perkins (0-1)

Spring Record - 6-4

The story of today for the Jays was not the 4-1 loss to the Racers. It was both Alex Burgos and Derek Varnadore leaving the field earlier than planned.

Reports say that Burgos should be ready for his next scheduled start, but it isn't clear whether Varnadore will be back by Opening Day.

WP - David Holmberg (2-0)
Save - Pedro Burgos (3)
LP - Alex Burgos (1-2)

Spring Record - 7-7

Pedro Hernandez pitched five strong innings, sending the Jays to a 2-1 win over the White Sox.

Brian Goodwin was ejected for his part in a bench-clearing brawl - kind of embarrassing for spring training.

Jose Deleon homered for Toronto.

WP - Pedro Hernandez (2-1)
Save - C.K. Irby (1)
LP - Austin Kirk (0-2)

Spring Record - 8-7
