"Apple cannot check it for malicious software"
I can't launch FHM6.
Macbook Pro on Catalina. I get an error that says the following: "Franchise Hockey Manager 6" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information. This is both on 6.1.41 and 6.1.45

It's something Apple has decided to do with software that hasn't gone through their certification process yet. To get around it, control-click on it and choose Open. You’ll see a similar alert about malware and contacting the developer, but now there will also be an option to just go ahead an open the app. Once you do that, it'll run without needing that step in the future.
