What does (Fo) after a player's name mean?

I see it next to Detroit's Tyson Ross in the pitching staff screen. Oddly, also, Tyson Ross almost never starts a game, even though he's in the starting rotation. He regularly relieves a player who starts and pitches 1-2 innings.

That means the Tigers are using the opener/follower system, and Ross is the follower.

It means he's designated as a follower. One of the relievers should be set as an opener. Generally that reliever would go 2 innings then the follower would go in after that.

I often do it when I have a weak starter and a strong bullpen.

I moved to the Seattle area in 1976. I had the privilege of listening to Dave Niehaus from 1977 thru the 2010 season. I wept when I heard he had passed. I loved his seasonal poem about baseball it never failed to bring tears to my eyes. He made listening and watching so many dreadful Mariner teams actually enjoyable, well almost lol. Dave was quite the gentleman and what a passion he had for baseball, the Mariner teams and the fans. I still miss him and listening to Mariner games has lost its luster, yet still I am a fan so I listen. Just thought I would share because of the quotes in your signature.

Thank you. My family moved her to Washington (out on the Olympic Peninsula) in 1993 and I've been a fan ever since. Dave Niehaus just had a way of calling a game that was more vivid than any I've watched on TV. It was incredible. I still remember the day I found out he had passed. I was at work and had to walk outside. I wept as well. It was like losing a friend. I did get the chance to make it up to his memorial. That was incredible. Then my first tattoo was the Mariners logo with My Oh My written across it in memory. Just felt right.

Im still a fan as well. Always will be. But...you are right. It's just lost its luster. Every time I watched or listen to a game there is just something missing.
