Things I'm wishing for at some point in the future...

First, let me say I'm excited about OOTP19, and can't wait to get my hands on it. Many, many improvements and addons, and we're all going to have some fun.

One thing that goes with the territory, however, is all the stuff we still want that's not in there yet. Since we're waiting, I thought I'd list those things I'm still waiting for...

1. Newspaper. Period. I still envision an html newspaper complete with masthead of my choice, headlines, standings, scores from yesterday and scheduled games for today, summarized boxscores, and a few stories/game results. We could print the newspaper once a day, once a week, or whatever time lapse would be convenient.

2. Update to default team logos. Although I agree the defaults are better than nothing, I think there's a lot of room for improvement. They don't have to be the beautiful, polished logos some of us here create, but they should have more variation and for Heaven's sake - center the text and get rid of the fonts that don't look good?

3. Baseball cards. I was thrilled when baseball cards were added to OOTP. I realize many members don't have a use for them, but to a guy like me who has collected and admired baseball cards since I was a kid, the ability to print out cards for my best players is priceless. I don't want to diminish the work folks here have invested in all the reproductions of past designs, but I would like to see a little more ability to create better ones. Here's my thoughts...

a. Bigger format. The details on the back of the cards is too small. Granted, you young folks are probably ok with it, but once your over 50, the struggle is too great. A crisp, clear stat line is imperative.

and b. Ability to add the team logo to the front of the card.

4. It would be nice (but not critical) if leagues could be created without a tie to a specific city. I like to name my teams using nicknames, but leave out the city. For the most part this works, but some stories end up being created without a specific reference. I wonder if it would be possible to add a check when writing the story; If the city name is missing, use the nickname. I think that's all it would take to fix.

5. For league that consist of only ONE League/Division (thus voiding any possibility of an All-Star game), I'd still like to award players the title of being named "All Stars".

I'm sure there's a few other things I've thought of through the years, but those have been on my bucket list year after year in the hopes of seeing them someday. (I'm 71 guys and running out of time! LOL)
