In 1906 we finished behind the Pirates by only 1 game, but we were unable to crack the dynasty like we did in 1904.

In 6 years the Pirates have won the NL 5 times and the World Series 4 times.

The AL has not won the World Series since 1901.

How did our newly drafted players really do?

Ed Karger - Played 6 years. Came up with the Pirates. Also played for the Cardinals, Reds, and Red Sox. He had one quite good year with St.Louis, but that was it.

Bill Bailey - 11 years with the Browns for the first half and jumped around for the last half of his career. One good year in 1914, but not much else.

Tony Smith - 3 years, 1 with the Senators, then missed a couple, then 2 with Brooklyn. Sub-par.

Pete Lister - One season with Cleveland. Not bad in limited time.

Charlie Roy - One season and few appearances with the Phillies. Poor.

Doc Tonkin - 2.2 IP with the Senators

We aren't expecting much.

Major Off-Season Additions

Doc Smooth (Trade - Highlanders)
Bobby Wallace (Trade - White Sox)
John Burrell (Trade - Cubs)

Major Off-Season Losses

Jimmy Sheckard (Trade - Yankees)
Gerald Hunter (Trade - Cubs)
Pat Moran (Trade - Cubs)

Experts so our off-season was a bit above average.

The Naps had the best time. They added Roy Thomas, Dylan McCord, Tom Hughes, and Chick Robitaille.

The always scar Pirates added Three-Finger Brown.

Great.
