Nicknames
I am only a couple years into my fictional league and there have already been 2 players nicknamed "The Grinch". Since I started to see duplicates I decided to add to the nickname dat file. I have currently added approximately 150 nicknames.
I am looking for nicknames that were not unique to MLB legends. There will only be one "Meal Ticket", "Big Train" etc. Add your favorite nicknames to this thread and I will add them to the nickname file and then make the file available. |

Excellent blueturf
I love the nickname option !!Is "Sparky" in the list? We had a guy in college we named that 'cause he alway got the rallies started. Henry |

BTW - if you add these names to the list, will they appear and replace "real" nicknames, like will it be Randy "Spits" Johnson instead of The Big Unit

It shouldn't because if you're using the Lahman database it pulls the nicknames from there. The .dat file would only be used when the computer actually generates the players.

Hey blueturf, when you get your file ready to go, please make sure to announce it in the Mods forum. I'd love to try it out.
Getting tired of having three players in my solo league nicknamed "Swordfish". |

I just started putting random nouns into the .dat file. It really makes it kind of fun to have random nicknames like:
T. "Cake" Williams J. "Sniffles" Smith J. "The Toe" Valdez... Which brings up another point - did anyone notice the creation of Juan Valdez? I almost give him the nickname "Coffee". Then I found two of Juan Valdez in the league..... |
