Vermillion City Electabuzz

As you can see the Electabuzz are not a very good team. Zero playoff appearances in their entire existent. I've got my work cut out for me. The team hasn't made it into the Top Three of the Zapdos Division since 2017. The .460 win percentage is the worst in the PBL, while they are the only team to not make the playoffs.

Meet the Team(Infield)

CATCHERS
Motoyuki "Spiderman" Morimoto(23 yrs, 5*/5*) - One of our best hitters(Eye, Contact and Power all over 15) smacked 29 balls out of the park last season and held a .291 Batting Average. Very slow though(Though he stole one base last season) 6.6 WAR

Jim Morrison(27 yrs, 3.5*/4*) - Better catcher than Morimoto and is a serviceable backup to Morimoto

Prospects: No real standout prospects, but Morimoto is 23 so he's our catcher for the future

First Baseman

Gerald "Old School" Thouvenin(26yrs, 2.5*/2.5*) - Nothing to special about this guy. Serviceable 1B for the time being. Played AAA last year.

Bernie Perry(30yrs, 2*/2*) - Was our starter last year for the most part. Solid hitter(.300AVG) and isn't a problem in the field. Won't win awards, but he's good for now

Prospects: Kazuki Gato(22yrs, 1*/2.5*) is our only 1B prospect that could amount to anything at the moment. Was a 3.5* back in 2026, but my scout doesn't seem to like him too much

Second Baseman

Alex Inomata(25yrs, 5*/5*) - Our MVP and the PBL's reigning MVP. This guy can do it all either at the plate or in the field. My scout loves him "Oozes big-league hitting talent and exhibits fluid athleticism at the plate. One of the best pure-hitters in the league."

Prospects: Lacking here as well. Bill Nomura(1*/2*) is our top prospect here at the age of 20, but his personality doesn't sit well with me(Cocky know it all)

Shortstop

Pete Tillman(30yrs, 2*/2*) - Our starter for the time being. He's a great fielder and an average hitter

Prospect: Randy Sullivan(20yrs, 1*/5*) is my one of my top prospect and my 1st First Round pick as GM. Good head on his shoulders and he should develop into a very good player

Third Baseman

Bill Mobley(26yrs, 4*/4*) - Very good third baseman who will put balls in the stands(23 HRS). He's a very dependable player for me.

Prospects: Takuya Shimuzu(1*/1.5*)

Meet The Team(Outfielders)

Left Field

Magohachi Kiyomizu(26yrs, 4.5*/4.5*) - My best LF and one of my top hitters(38 Homers and a 5.7 WAR). Zero Errors last season.

Brian Garrett(28yrs, 3.5*/3.5*) - Can play all three outfield positions exceptionally well and can cover the distances and will chip in the occasional runs(8HRS).

Prospects: Yaichiro Suzuki(1*/5*) - Tenno(Scout) loves this guy as well. Future Hall of Famer if he stays healthy. 6th Ranked Prospect in the League.

Center Field

Mathieu "The Cannon" Billard(23yrs, 4*/4.5*) - Dude has a cannon(21 rating) of an arm and was very good in AAA. Looking at him or Hayden to be the starter.

Mike Hayden(23, 3*/4.5*) - OSA says 5* for this guy. Not the best outfielder but his Batting ratings are very solid.

Tyler Nakai(23, 1.5*/2.5*) and Ron Veeck(21, 1*/3*) are in our pipeline. Veeck is going to win awards in the PBL if he makes it. His fielding ratings are amazing.

Right Field

Toshikuni Ohayashi(24, 2*/3.5*) - Had a very good AAA season and should be in the Big Leagues this year. I expect a good season from Ohayashi.

Ben Takeda(22, 1*/4*) Looks to be a solid player. Angry for some reason

Meet the Team(Pitchers)

Starters

Todd Jordan(27, 4*/4.5*) Our ace. 15-5 last season with a 3.31 ERA. Struck out 168 batters. Very good fastball and Sinker. Changeup could use work(4). Lost both his decisions in the playoffs though.

David Henry(28, 2.5*/3*) Went 11-4 with a 2.88ERA last year, our #2 pitcher. Has a nasty slider(20) but other than that a pretty average pitcher.

Shigetaka Watanabe(2.5*/3*) - Had a very poor season(5-10, 5.01 ERA) last year and I hope he, can recover.

Barney Tanaka(25, 1.5*/3.5*) - Went 10-1 with a 3.29 so he was a pleasant surprise. Has potential but is self-centered. OSA likes this kid(4.5*) so we'll see.

Laurent Dede(24, 1.5*/3*) - Reliever turned starter. 17 Stamina and he is still young. Will be our #5 guy in the rotation.

Prospect: Peter Matthews(20, 0.5*/3*) Our best guy coming up. Not too much else in the pipeline.

Relievers

Matsuyo Ine(27, 5*/5*) - Dude can pitch. Doesn't last too long, but he makes it count.

Jeff Oishi(23, 4.5*/5*) - His Stuff is off the chart(23) Won six decisions last year and struck out 113 batters. Potential Hall of Famer

Mike Grimes(25, 4*/4.5*) - Mike works his tail off and I can always rely on him to keep the team in games.

Shirai Saito(28, 3.5*/4*) - Managed to win 10 games last year. He utilizes two pitches and gave up a lot of earned runs(7.27) but he gets results. Hoping he can bring that ERA down.

Edward Winter(26, 2*/3.5*) - Was quite successful in AAA with Lavender Town. Time to see what he can do in the PBL.

Closers

Isei Aoki(27, 5*/5*) - Only had 18 saves last year, but he's rocking a 26 for his Stuff. Two pitches that are highly rated(FB - 21, CHG - 20) and he strikes batters out(116K)

Prospects: Jonah Long(1*/4.5*)(Out 10 months with Tommy John surgery) My top closer prospect, but he might not be for long. Anthony Taylor(20, 0.5*/3*) is my other prospect.

Well something messed up in my scheduling where AAA and AA only played 4-5 games a season. Restarting the quicksave and simming about 30 years then go from there. I'm gonna keep this thread, just edit the necessary posts.

*The Newest quicksave should have been fixed, but please look at the AAA and AA scheduling tab to determine if it was corrected.

Ok I've been sitting on this for a while. I simmed out to 2030 and took over the Vermillion City Electabuzz. Just need to find the time to redo the previous posts.

Hmm we have some cool smileys...

So I finally got around finishing my 1st season(Wife and Two kids + Navy + being a predominant console player)

Needless to say we exceeded expectations and took the league by storm in the month of August with a 23-5(34-9 post all-star game)(Finished with an 86-52 Record). Ended up winning the Zapdos division by one game over the Saffron City Alakazams. Blew the other teams out of the water with Home Runs(228, next closest was the Avaluggs with 184)

That set us up with a 1st Round Date(Best of Nine) with the Mauville City Voltorbs. We fell to them after jumping out to a 4-2 Series lead and lost the final three games 4-3, 4-3, and 4-2(12 Innings). Tough break to an otherwise excellent first season at the helm.

The Courmarine City Gogoats won their 1st ever PBL Championship by sweeping the Snowbelle City Avaluggs (9-1, 4-3, 6-3, and 5-1)

We came out pretty well with the awards as well with Motoyuki "Spider-man" Morimoto Winning the Great Glove Award for Catchers. 23-year old 2B Alex Inomata(.324BA/.397OBP/.616SLG, 39HR, 96RBI, 95RS) Took home the Platinum Stick Award for Best Hitter and also LEAGUE MVP!!

Last Year Owner Goals
  • Team Record: Don't Suck Completely(COMPLETED, Won Division)
  • Acquire a HomeTown player(Failed, tough one)
  • Build Up Farm System(COMPLETED, Went from 21st to 11th)
This Season's Owner Goals(Target Year):
  • Team Record: Reach Playoffs
  • Upgrade Shortstop: Currently 24th
  • Improve Starters ERA: Currently 17th
  • Acquire a Hometown Player(2033)
  • Increase Attendance to 27,000/Game(2035): Currently 24222/Game
  • Build Farm to Top 5(2033): Currently 11th
  • Long Term Reach Championship Round(2036): Work in Progress
Offseason Report coming soon and I'm gonna update the Meet the Team posts

Offseason Report

Winter Meeting was relatively uneventful. They only real change is the Pitching Mounds will be lowered in an attempt to boost scoring.

We signed a few minor league players, but kept the team relatively intact from last year. That is until New Years Day, when the Slateport City Pelippers sent us a trade offer that really made me think about it. They were willing to send 29-year old pitcher John Jones to us for LF Yaichiro Suzuki(#6 Prospect) and two minor prospects. This deal would immediately make our Bullpen one of the tops in the league, but giving up Suzuki was a tough pill to swallow.
