Tips for Updating Ratings?
Hey guys,
I'm looking into updating the ratings of a significant chunk of players to tide myself over until OOTP 16. My current approach sounds pretty raw and I'm not looking to provide excessive depth (won't be touching MiLB and might be pretty sparse on defensive changes with a few exceptions). The current thought is to sim the 2014 season, have the list of ~1500 MLB players from BRef at hand and edit the player ratings of those with a good deal of ABs or IPs to make their estimated stats be close to what we saw in the real world, give or take some points taking into consideration BABIP and FIP. Is there a good list I should be looking at that has all 2014 MLB hitters' AVG, HR, SB, BB, OBP, OPS, BABIP (like 2014 Major League Baseball Advanced Batting | Baseball-Reference.com but with HR, BB and SB?) and all 2014 pitchers' ERA, IP, Ks, FIP, pitch speed/pitch fx data? Also, is there a better way than opening the player editor for each player whose data I want to update? (P.S. I won't be worrying about updated teams/FA status as I play fantasy drafts for 95% of my games )

For the list, I think what I'll do is export the BRef list for standard batting and advanced batting to .csv, then edit the columns in Excel to my needs and use that as my point of reference.
Still looking for any tips! Last edited by FaithlessValor; 12-17-2014 at 05:17 PM. |
