It would be nice if there were a retire uniform number option on the player page.

Roy

I think on how it is designed, it must be a TEAM, not a player option

What if you retire a guys number right away after he retires, then he comes back?

The Nationals technically have no retired numbers le receveur, they decided to start as a new franchise and not a continuation of the old one

Harold Baines' number was retired by the White Sox by the White Sox in 1989 and he played until 2001!

Per wikipedia " After the trade the White Sox retired Baines' #3 on August 20,1989, a rare occurrence for a player who was still active in the major leagues (the number would be "un-retired" each time Baines returned to the White Sox, and he currently wears it as a coach)."

Anyway the way I envision it is the retire number option wouldn't be available on a player's page until he retires. Maybe it can come up as an option on the email screen as well when you are alerted to the player's retirement.
