Can someone give me hardest possible setting for a modern league start?

After 13 seasons with the pirates and 12 straight first place finishes, 3 titles, it was getting a bit boring. I was playing on hard trading w/ heavily favored prospects. I want to play with a low market team and want it to be as hard as possible and the most realistic. Can someone help?

Stats only does sound fun.

If you dont like that option you just need to use common sense in dealing with the computer AI. If a 5 star 21 year old is on waivers, dont claim him. Instead of low balling the computer for that extra 19 year old prospect make sure you are making this a "fair" deal for the computer. It is really hard to do but it is very possible if you can train yourself to think like the computer GM when dealing with them.

I brought the Astros to the playoffs after 3 seasons. So taking the worst team doesn't always mean that it is the hardest way to play. Picking a future hall of fame starting pitcher with the 1st overall pick in 2012 helped a lot though.
