Offseason negotiation

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had seen this after the patch:

Everytime I meet an offer from a free agent (that they suggest) or even exceed that offer, the player says "This offer is terrible! Did you even see my inital offer!?"
Is this some kind of glitch or will they always say this now to get more money out of you?

thanks!

If this is the case it's a glitch. It would be dumb if they didn't accept the intial offer and asked if you saw it. I haven't been able to confirm this for myself, but if this is happening I hope it gets fixed soon.

My initial reaction is this is a glitch. Offer what the guy wants and he says its terrible. Does not happen every time, but enough to trigger me to think, like you, that something is amiss.

I'm getting the same thing! I am right now in off-season and it only started happening after the patch... it really makes it hard to play through the off-season. Just if it matters. I am playing a fictional league that I started before the patch. I am waiting to hear what the problem is before I continue playing.

I am just wondering. What part of the season were you in when you patched?

I too am now having this problem. Makes it tough to play. Now I wish I wouldn't have downloaded the patch. LOL. I can't sign my dudes.

I was in the offseason, after my league awards but before manager awards and free agency is when I patched the game.

It seems like it is just an issue with the players response. I offered the player his demand and he said "this is a terrible offer" etc. but when I pressed submit offer the next day I got a message saying he liked my offer.

I bet these patches are a nightmare for you sometimes, you get other things fixed then something else pops up from the patch that needs fixing.

Three cheers for Markus! He wins a free trip to a game at Target Field, which I only offer because I know he's thousands of miles away.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

How is Target Field Matt? It just hasn't seemed to get the love/coverage alot of other new stadiums have in the past.

Target Field is fantastic. There's plenty of radiant heaters so the cold snaps that happened in the early and late part of the season aren't that bad. The whole concourse is open, which may seem pretty standard now-a-days but the Metrodome wasn't so it's kind of a big deal to us at least.

The right field concourse opens up into a nice plaza and you could probably watch the entire game from there. My only complaint was that if you sat in left field or along the right field line you couldn't see the scoreboard since it was above the 2nd deck in left field but this year they added another one in right, so the extent the Twins FO has gone to listen to the fans and make the place more enjoyable for them to watch a game at.

I also kind of think moving to Target Field hurt the Twins. The Dome offered a lot of advantages to the Twins, like the fact the roof was colored the same as a baseball, and because of that visiting teams don't have as much trouble playing at Target Field unlike the Dome where visiting teams would usually commit one or two errors a season just because they didn't have the same familiarity as the Twins did with the nuances of the stadium.

One kind of weird thing though is where it's located. There are like 5 or 6 strip clubs and one 'adult gift' store called 'Sexworld' all within 3 - 6 blocks of the place. Doesn't bother me as I'm 27 and without kids but parents may not be a big fan of that fact of the stadium.

I used to dread when the Tigers would go visit the dome. They especially had troubles playing there. So you are right on about the dome giving them an advantage. Plus Mauer doesn't seem to hit in the new park.

I bet you give it time and the neighborhood will turn around in a few years. CoAmerica has totally transformed the part of town it is in. Best part of the city to hang out in.

I remember how upset I was when the Tigers closed Tiger Stadium but to be honest I love CoAmercia now. Only bad part of the stadium for me if if you sitting in LF you can't see anything with the sun.
