Two player hotseat

Will it be possible for 2 people to play in a league against AI opponents?

That's been possible.

This option was actually promised in one of the releases then just dropped like it was never promised.

Don't hold your breath.

Clarify question

More specifically, I wish to have the option for 2 player hotseat in Career Mode. Will this be available in OOTP12 ?

That doesn't clarify anything.

What is a 2 player hotseat?

I'm not aware of any "career mode" in OOTP.

That's when two players play in one game on one computer. That should be fairly easily programmable for managing during a baseball game (Strat-O-Matic has had it ever since the beginning). I wouldn't have any idea how to do it for the general manager aspects of the game, which is what I THINK he meant by 'career mode'.

Seems like it would be pretty simple. Say there's 30 teams in the league. Two controlled by humans, 28 by AI. One human GM logs in, does his thing, then logs out. The other owner logs in, does his thing, logs off. Whichever of the two is Commishing, runs the sim.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

People have been doing this for many versions, having leagues where one or more teams are run by the AI.

Bluenoser,

Yes, this is what I mean. I know that many other games have this option. In fact, the old Tony LaRussa Baseball game allowed for this.

If that's what you want to do then Bluenoser just told you how to do it with OOTP. He wasn't giving an example.

Yeah, as you say this has been done for many years/versions. I'm quite certain I've never heard or read the term 2 player hotseat though.

I thought at first he met two players connected on lan or net playing out a game play by play which Markus said was in a release but it never did materialized.

This term has been in use in the computer wargaming community for decades — probably since the beginning.

Granted. I'd suggest however that one should not assume jargon from a different gaming segment is in the lexicon here.
