Still getting coaches replying to ghost offers

Just as with OOTP 9, I still get regular emails from coaches responding to offers I never made. It's not as bad as OOTP9 (where I just had to turn off personal email notifcation in order to make it through simming even a single week), but still quite annoying. I posted it last year but appeared to be in a small minority with the problem?

The usual reason this happens is that the AI is making the offers on your behalf -- because the AI (i.e., "minor league managers") has been set to manage your minor league teams. So they aren't really ghost offers. If you are managing your minors, and you are getting these messages, that would be a puzzle. I suppose one of the purposes for getting these messages is to alert you to the fact of an empty slot on one of the minors, in case you want to take control and do the recruiting yourself. Otherwise regard it as spam.

Since I can't launch the game right now, I can't check, but I don't think that these are a result of minor league offers. First, we never got emails like this prior to OOTP 9. And I paid a lot of attention to this in OOTP 9 and I'm pretty sure they weren't minor league offers. Also, why would they come in the middle of the season? ( They do get worse in the off season.) And why did no one say "oh those are from minor league managers" when I posted on this numerous times in the OOTP 9 forums? Why does the same guy send me 5, 6, 7 emails all saying the same thing? Over the course of several weeks?

I'm pretty sure it's a bug.

Lot of questions here. Sorry you didn't get a response when you raised this in OOTP9 forums. I'm pretty sure they would have said the same thing I did.

The only way you can be sure what is happening is to allow the emails to show up and read them. One of them will be an acceptance. See where the guy accepting shows up in your organization. If it is as a coach for one your minors, that tells you something. If he shows up as a coach on your major league team, that's another (unlikely, but I don't want to rule it out). Either way, it would make it easier to figure out whether this is a bug.

The multiple emails are not unusual. The process of hiring a coach is tricky. That started in OOTP9, I believe. Even if you were doing the negotiating yourself, you might find it necessary to make multiple offers to the same guy and work your way thru multiple refusals until you got to an agreement. So the AI is doing it for you. Some people dislike this development in the game. One solution is to turn off coaches. Or, as I say, treat the emails like spam.
