Ballparks "Re-setting" every year
I've read enough on the forums to know that ballparks "re-set" every year to the historically correct ballpark. I guess this happens in historical leagues only.
Doesn't this make it impossible to create your own fictional/historical replay (real players, fake teams) and sim multiple seasons with the ballparks you want? Because at the end of every season, the game will re-set to the team ID's historical ballpark. Just looking for clarification on this. I'm playing a league with fictional teams and historical players. Would it be correct that the only way I can keep the ballparks I WANT intact is to sim only season at a time, and re-copy in the parks.dat file from the last season?

What I do is "disable" the era_ballparks.txt file by renaming it. Then it can not be found and so the ballparks information is never updated. It is located in the database folder.
You can also edit this file to change it so the automatic changes are what you want rather than what actual history was. I would recommend at least saving the original somewhere in case you do want to go back to the actual at a later date. |

Thanks for the great ideas. I don't understand how to do the second idea (editing the file), but the first idea is a winner for me!

It is a comma deliminated file so you can use Excel or any text editor. I personally prefer Excel because I am more familiar with it and it is less confusing for me. Just save it back as a comma deliminated file when you are done.
