6 schedules for online league
I would like 6 schedule files for 6 seasons of my online league. If anyone could give me some help please post the file.
38 teams, 2 subleagues in 4 divisions each 178 game schedule, unbalanced with interleague Starts first Sunday on or after March 23 in seasons 2, 5 & 6, first Friday on or after March 28 in seasons 1, 3 & 4 (2-game Japan Series Friday & Sunday between SL1 Division 3 teams, regular schedule also starts on Sunday and the Japan Series teams don't play again until the following Wednesday) SL1 has 5 teams in each division SL2 has 5 teams in Divisions 1 and 3, 4 teams in Divisions 2 and 4 Typical series length is 2 games Schedule Format SL1 teams play: 14 games against each division opponent (2 3-game series and one 2 game series at home, 3 2-game series on the road for 2 opponents, vice versa for the other 2) 7 games against opponents from one division in their own league on a rotating basis (1 2-game and 1 3-game at home, 1 2-game away for 1 or 2 opponents, vice versa to total 3. 2 2-game series at home, 1 3-game series away and vice versa for the other 2. This is why I wanted 6 schedules. Only one is needed at this point.) 6 games against opponents from the other 2 SL1 divisions (3-game home-and-home) SL2 teams from Divisions 1 and 3 play: 14 games against each division opponent (Same format as SL1) 7 games against each nondivision opponent except 1 from the other 5-team division (Do this however you want, but NO 4-GAME SERIES) 8 games against the other nondivision opponent (4 2-game series) SL2 teams from Divisions 2 and 4 play: 15 games against 2 division opponents (3 2-game series each way plus an additional 3-game series) 16 games against the other divisional opponent (2 3-game series and 1 2-game series each way) 8 games against each opponent from the other 4-team division (1 3-game each way plus an additional 2-game series) 7 games against each opponent from Divisions 1 & 3 Interleague Play: SL1 teams play 9 3-game series with at least 1 home and 1 away against every SL2 division SL2 teams play 10 3-game series with at least 1 home and 1 away against every SL1 division Total: 178 games for each team. Make sure to balance out home and away. |

Clarification: The Japan Series teams play different teams the following Wednesday, and the usual series format is Monday-Tuesday, Wednesday-Friday, Saturday-Sunday.

Lastly, the ASG should (but doesn't have to) be the Tuesday of the 20th or 21st week as the season runs 29 weeks and I want the ASG to line up with RL.

Counting up the games, I get 178 for all the teams. However for the number of series I get different numbers for different divisions. With something of this scope and configuration it is not feasible for me to try to juggle the various amounts of 2- and 3-game series into the ultimate layout. Here is my counter proposal:

The parenthetical means the late-start years start with a season-opening series between teams 11 and 12, on Friday and Sunday. (You can remove this if you want and just have every season start in mid-March.) Keep my suggestion for the number of games each team plays, but the number of 2-and-3 game series a team plays should be about even.

Sorry, but the best I can do with this is the scheme as I laid out above with essentially all 2-game series. If what you want is a near balance of 2-game and 3-game series, that is more than I am able to do. If the 2-game scheme is okay, let me know and I will build it.

Oddly enough, though my online league never got off the ground, I ended up repurposing this schedule for another project...
