Hall of Fame? Community Help Needed!!!

I have a problem and I hope you all can help me out. I have a list of players who have retired and are not shoo-ins for the Hall, tell me who, if any, of these former big leaguers should get the call:

Jim Thome .279 1,794 Hits 476 HR 1,276 RBI
Craig Biggio .285 2,856 Hits 275 Hr 1,117 RBI 405 SB
Luis Gonzalez .285 2,267 Hits 331 HR 1,293 RBI

John Smoltz 190-134 154 Saves 3.39 ERA 2,751 K's
Curt Schilling 214-146 3.47 ERA 3,060 K
Mike Mussina 242-139 3.77 ERA 4,500 K's (currently 4th on all-time list)

Just post a reply below and let me know, I'll keep this open for a few hours, but I would like to start 2008 tonight, thanks!

I don't think any of them deserve it none of them hit key milestones. Yes they were good but were they great numbers...no.

The closest is probably Smoltz. Biggio if he would of got to 3,000. He was never an MVP like Sandberg or Morgan and compare his numbers to theirs.

Yeah, me too. In fact I'm not sure Mussina should even be debatable. The pitcher that's FOURTH all-time in K's along with that impressive W-L and ERA should be in, IMHO. Smoltz could be debatable only because of those years as a reliever, and lots of people (me included) don't respect the saves as much as the wins. But I would say out of that list, Biggio, Mussina, and Smoltz.

Probably outa go ahead and vote it, you may not see this much agreement in one thread again for awhile.

I'd lean towards all of the pitchers and none of the hitters but thats just me. Smoltz and Mussina for sure, Schillings numbers are pretty good. Thome just missed 500 but I don't even think that would make me vote him in, the only 1800 hits bothers me. Biggio is good all around but not great in any one spot, I don't like those types of guys for the hall myself. And Gonzalez I think has the worst case of them all IMO.

Not enough info.

1) How many seasons are computer generated vs. real-life?
2) Where did they play? What were the park factors?
3) How good were the teams they played for?
4) What are the league averages (BA, OBP, SLG, etc.)? Did they change over time?
5) Did they win any championships?
6) Did they win any honors (MVP, Cy Young, All-Star, GG, etc.)?
7) How do they place on the all-time leader boards (if not real life)?
8) What positions did they play? How long? How good were they?

I would go with this as well, I always want to see more then just stats. However, without these intangables, I don't see any of them making in. My personal preference is that the Hall should be hard to get in and nothing there jumps at me.

I would want the answers to those questions, as well as the following career stats, before making my decision:

Batters - OBP, SLP, VORP
Pitchers - ERA+, WHIP, VORP
