NE1 ever tried this
NE1 ever teach a new position to a reliever and make him into a starter?
If so, what were the long term results like, good, bad, ugly? Was thinking if you took a reliever with a C or B endurance rating, he might have a shot as a starter. I could be wrong too though.....

I think you have to do it in Spring Training, (it can't to my knowledge be done in the minors) I know it works sometimes although don't expect a great endurance rating for the pitcher.

I have done this before. I've taken a RP and taught him to be a starter in Spring Training. He was an A in RP and when he learned to be a starter, he began with a D endurance. However, over the course of the next couple of years in the minors (he was a youngster) he went up to having an endurance of C.

sometimes in the draft there are very good relievers still available late in the rounds which are also rated E as a starter. I haven't been able to not convert one yet. One in my current league is one of the top starters in the league.

I've done it succesfully if the reliever also had a rating as a starter.

The Minnesota Twins in WSBL my league with the link below had 4 closers so he decided to convert Jose Jimenez. His ratings dropped to around 5 in avoid runs...and he had a couple goods, but he is a successful SP.

You can do it in ST and with the minors. I've done it with both, but I've never had anyone go to anything better than an E in the minors.

It can be done in Spring Training, but like it was said before the pitcher starts off with very low endurance. I have performed this on Curt Schilling in a 1990 league. He did not loose considerable pitching ratings during the transistion.
