OOTP Baseball 2006 Mac release update

My current thinking is that the Mac version will actually be released on 6/7/2006 (to tie in with the section "Patches" on this thread http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=119573)

The reasons would be:-

- The contracts are agreed, signed but not exchanged, we will not have confirmation that they have been exchanged till later today
- We've not had sufficent time to test the Mac version "multi-season"

Once we have exchange, as a gesture of goodwill I will be looking to open up the store to allow for pre-ordering (if this is possible) and offering a discount to Mac fans (since you guys have waited so patiently for this moment).

I appreciate this is not the news many Mac fans would have liked to have heard but I'd rather be honest here with the reasoning and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

a week later isnt bad at all, esp. with a discount (and i already ordered the pc version so i can still dive right in). thanks for the update!

Is that date in MM/DD/YYYY format or DD/MM/YYYY format? Since North America is often off on its own when it comes to the format of a lot of things, it is a valid question to ask. June 7th is quite different from July 6th.

Since the release date is 31st May, it will be 6th July they are meaning

2 questions.

- Will the Mac version be compatible with PC versions in online leagues?

- If we buy a license, can we use one of them on a PC copy and the other on a Mac copy?

No -- they use totally different licensing systems.

I know that they are on differeing licensing systems and all that, but I really wish that they had managed to get this part right. Oh well, maybe next year.

I was hoping that Elicense and the Mac license folks had enough flexibility to be able to issue licenses with differing numbers of authorizations....ie that you could buy the game and get one of three things:

1) one Elicense code good for two PCs
- or -
2) one Mac code good for two Macs
- or -
3) one Elicense code good for one PC and one Mac code good for one Mac

I'm sure if it were possible they would have done it, and I should be thanking the gods that I'll get to play ootp on a mac at all.

I'm not too bummed about the later release date....I need to study for my CFA exam anyway :P

Oh, I made a post to the general annoucement forum about a mac licensing update and shouldn't have. I will go hang my head in shame.

I can wait, but since I broke down and bought a Mac Book Pro to replace my decrepit imac I've been eager to see how fast this program will run. I'm also looking forward to using the mac version in conjunction with the on-line league I belong to.

If you're running a MBP, grab boot camp and load up WinXP.

That's what I do already - Markus is getting my money twice. Once for PC and once for Mac.

Well, then I will be looking back every day in the hopes that I can pre-order. Until then, I am running a painfully slow EHM (not 2005) on my Mac Mini.

Which actually reminds me... though I suppose I could/should put this in a different thread... My Mac is not hooked up to the internet right now (long story). Can I download the Mac version on this PC, burn it to a CD, and install it on my Mac? It would only be licensed on the one Mac, if this is possible.
