Crashes when loading Logos

I've played 18 games but now it crashes. The game seems to load properly. I click " Continue Game", and everything loads until it gets to the, "Loading Logos" at 85%. It crashes every time at that point. Then, a box pops up stating, "OOTP 19.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly."

Granted, my computer is old, but I was able to play 18 games before this started to happen. I've rebooted and tried running as administrator.

I'm on a PC running Windows 10 Version 1709. I'm hoping there's a quick fix because I don't know how to mess around with the video card, etc.

Let me know. I'm happy with the game but terribly frustrated with this issue.

I have received no response from OOTP developers. I submitted a ticket through Kayako (reference #24088)..

There are a few different possible solutions depending on exactly what's happening.

When is this happening for you, is it when you try to create a new league from the start menu or is it when you try to load a previously created save?

It happens when I try and load a previously saved game. It only happens on one particular saved game and it just started happening. I tried "Force game data re-installation" but it didn't help. Thanks for your help!

I have the exact same issue, happening at 85% (Loading Logos) of loading a specific saved game. It just crashes, no error message or anything.

Still haven't gotten a resolution. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I would guess this is the result of a corrupt save from what you've described. In that case, the first thing to try would be to restore the save from the autosave function.

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings (or Preferences in OOTP 11-14).

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

8) Start OOTP and load the save.

If things worked, then the save should load. If not, let me know.
