Second Team in a (Fictional) City

I want to expand my completely fictional setting (made up cities, game-generated players).

If I put a second team in one of the extremely large markets, will the game know to split attendance and whatnot between them, or will I need to manually adjust?

And if I add major league teams, will the game automatically fill out the minor league affiliates or is that another manual operation?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't think the game will recognize that two teams are playing in the same city and it will treat them like teams from different cities.

To be sure I'd suggest that you run a test league and check it out.

The game definitely will fill out your minor league teams with random cities and nicknames

OOTP has no real proximity awareness like you're describing, regardless of whether the world is real or fictional.

Agree with eriq, you’d have to do any market adjustment yourself.

Also, regarding your question on minor leagues, if you add a new major league team, the game will automatically generate minor league teams for that club. But the locations and team nicknames will be random and may not make sense for what you want.

Having the game understand cities would be a nice feature in future editions.

I also would like the option to be able to share stadiums. I know MLB doesn't have any teams that currently share stadiums but they have in the past. Currently in the NBA the Clippers and Lakers both play at Staples Center. In the NFL the Giants and Jets play in the Meadowlands and the Chargers and Rams will share the new stadium in LA when it's complete. I would like to see that possibility in OOTP as well. It would be interesting if say the Oakland Athletics decided instead of trying to build a new ball park in Oakland that they would just rather play in the Giants home stadium instead. Or be the third most popular team in New York and share Citi Field with the Mets. Things like that.
