Turning off international news?

I have all my news subscriptions turned off, but I still get totally irrelevant messages like "Dimo Maslinkov's great game in the 8-1 Bulgaria vs United Arab Emirates Division II-B Championship"

Is there any other way to turn those messages off? I'm not even signed with an international team.

Unfortunately that is not possible at this time.

We will have a much deeper news subscription system in FHM 4, there you will be able to do that (and even a bit more).
