My First OLD Dynasty

I am running two games... A Blue Jays Quick Start and a Blue Jays game I started in 1977.

Now I was thinking about doing an older one... a WAAAAY older one.

If I wanted a team that evolved into the L.A. Dodgers, could I start... where? 1883 Brooklyn Atlantics? Would it do all the league evolution and team evolution for me?

Anything I should know?

If you start before 1901, you would have to do all of the expansion and franchise moves yourself if you want it to be historically accurate. The game does have a simplified league structure with gradual expansion for 19th century baseball that is handled automatically. One of the 1871 teams is the Brooklyn Atlantics. In real life, there was no major league Brooklyn franchise between 1876-1883. The team that is now the Dodgers actually joined the American Association in 1884, but in the game's version of history the 1871 Brooklyn Atlantics will stay in the league and eventually become the Dodgers.

I am not really into the technical side of OOTP... making teams and moving them around or whatever. I just like running a team.

So, are you saying of I start with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1900 I don't need to worry about that and the game will do it for me?

(Thanks for your help, by the way.)

If you start in 1900, I think you will be the Brooklyn Superbas. Make sure you select the box for expansion and the box to import financial setting by year. If the expansion box is checked, Brooklyn will progress through all the name changes and eventually move to LA.
