IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Just my two cents here, but it definitely seems that people have different opinions about what makes a good site. Some like a graphical design that makes the page look fancy, while others prefer a design that presents the information easily. I tend to prefer the latter.

When I designed the site for the league I am in, the <a href="http://nwbl.csbl.net">Virtual Springfield Baseball League</a>, I knew I could not make the nice graphics, so I decided to go the other direction and make a site that loads quickly and is viewed in many browsers equally well. As a bonus to this, the site can be modified easily, ex. I've added a polling system and a news posting program very quickly and both can be included into the site without having to change the design.

I think that is a very nice, clean webpage. Personally, I don't like websites that are so cluttered with graphics that they appear gaudy.

So good job and I really like the formulas section too. All that was written with JavaScript? (Wondering because I just started teaching myself JavaScript a few days ago, along with Visual Basic)

Yeah, all the formulas are written in JavaScript. They are pretty easy to code, though I had to learn some tricks to get the output correct. If you have any suggestions for more formulas, I'll listen to them, and if possible, try to implement them.

Well Since we are all being plug whores here take a look at my league's page in my signature. The page isn't anything to write home about I know, but it gets the job done fine. I thought about trying to design a graphics rich ESPN like web page, but #1 I couldn't make any of the graphics look that good and #2 I'm a Yankees fan. Well I know #2 has nothing to do with the web page, but I always like getting a couple replies from long suffering Red Sox fans bashing the Yankees whenever they are mentioned.

I generally refrain from going out of my way to pimp the FOBL (some of our other owners do it much better ), but we've been around for a little over a year, real time, and have averaged close to 1000 posts per week since inception (approx. 53,000 total posts currently). Average owners online typically ranges from 10-15.

And, in keeping with the topic of the thread, I think Buddy Grant (Killebrew here) has done a fantastic job with our website.

Simms... You have not only sixteen more owners than we do, but you also have been around for 13 more months. WiBL was formed from a group of owners from the whatifsports.com community, not the OOTP community (excepting BrentBlades and Dwolfson20). We <i>now</i> average about 8-12 owners online at once (40%-60% of the league) and approx. 50-75 posts a day, not including transactions forums. Just since I posted that, the total post number is up around 525-550.

EDIT: now was added to the sentence, just to explain to everyone that two days ago we had only eighteen owners.
