Almanacs/History/Zipping leage files each season?

Is it still necessary to zip league files on december 31st each season? Or is the backup feature in game just as good (and hopefully faster)?

Also, what are some of your all's settings for Almanacs/History. I basically want it to have like the basic news and stuff and the players' pages but I want it to not take as long as it has been the last two times to generate it. I'm two seasons in and both times it's taken a couple hours to generate the almanac/history. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The almanac works fine and I will post some screenshots of what I use a lil bit later on. I go with what I believe is the bare minimum. Complete almanac takes way too long. My way in one league with complete MLB history + 5 other fictional leagues takes 2-3 Hours. In my small fictional league it takes 10-20 minutes.

Mine takes from 20 to 30 minutes with everything. From 1871 to 1941 with a AAA and a AA.

Here's what I use. I don't use the complete option. Only 2 seasons in so not a lot of history, takes 10-20 mins.

I definitely appreciate that! I'll give those settings a whirl because I've been doing some tinkering but it still seems to take forever so it's been trial and error so far for me haha. I'm in 1903 (started in 1900) of a fictional league in which I want a ton of history for.

I'll post back after I change these settings and let you know how it went. Appreciate the help.
