PEBA : the immersive, fictional, writing-friendly league has openings!
ONE OF OOTP'S MORE IMMERSIVE LEAGUES HAS OPENINGS! PEBA is a dynasty report and online league, all rolled into one! Check out our website for latest league-wide news! Available Teams All team bios are in the post below! Amsterdam Lions Florida Featherheads Hartford Harpoon London Underground Okinawa Shisa ------------- PEBA, a storied and prolific league, has a few openings and we are looking for active GM's who enjoys providing updates on their team's progress : - about their team - or the league environment - fiction peripherally related to the league - Hemingway-esque international intrigue with a side of sabrmetric analysis - ...umm, theology(?) ...or a whole host of random other stuff. Are you that GM? Then PEBA is for you! The 2026 season is here! ...and a handful of teams are looking for new GM's to build towards the future! It is a perfect time to jump in! OOTP Version: 18 Format: Fictional First Season: 2007 Current Season: 2026 Days Per Sim: 7 Sims Per Week: 2-3 (Sim schedule can be found here) Our goal is to create an immersive and highly entertaining fictional baseball environment. We welcome any owner who enjoys contributing to that goal regardless of experience level. If you're an enthusiastic OOTP newbie or a seasoned vet looking for a new group of friendly people to compete against, the PEBA may be the perfect landing spot for you! ----- League Origin Story The year was 2007, and America was starved for its National Pastime. The PED Scandal and greed on all fronts broke the nations trust in Major League Baseball, and an Institution of well over 100 years folded up shop and closed their doors. In came John Rodriguez, Sr and a group of wise business men who brought baseball back to the forefront – eschewing the big city lights and bringing the game back to the people. It's hard to believe that was 20 years ago. Since it opened its doors, PEBA has had its share of controversy and tragedy; dynasty and Cinderella. It’s the home to ‘Fireworks’, ‘The King’, ‘Big Shot’, ‘Tugboat’, ‘El Chupacabra’ and ‘Moon Dog’. It is a shared dynasty of 26 like-minded souls who have crafted a universe – a PEBAverse, like none other – and now you can become part of that legend. What We're Like League Structure Each major league team has 4 minor league affiliates (AAA, AAA, full season A, short season A) Four feeder leagues: 2 college (1 international and one US), and 2 high school (again, 1 international and one US) 4 independent AI leagues. Playoff Structure 10 teams make the playoffs (3 division winners and 2 wild cards in each league) Division Winners in each league advance directly to the Division Series. Wild Card round is best of 5; divisional, league championship, and Rodriguez Cup each best of 7. The PEBA is a unique participation-based league – we pride ourselves with quality writing that not only covers the game, but takes us out of the dugout and, at times, into the sublime. Two sims a week means we move fast enough to enjoy ourselves, but give you enough breathing space to explore the depths of your team. Nowhere else do you find a GM running his club from a mental hospital, a team broadcaster heading to a foreign land to rekindle his game – only to be hunted for drug smuggling, a team hiring a GM and world-travelling manager, both trying to revive 'dead ball' baseball in modern times, and a pair of buddies heading out on the road to visit every ball park – and ending up becoming a real life published book! We use a Contribution Points reward system that allows members to make teams their own – be it through ballpark adjustments, sending players to winter ball to ‘hone their skills’, or simply giving your favorite player a nickname – Just ask Michel ‘Train Arollin’ Provost about that! Our goal is to produce an environment that reflects realism. We play with Coaching and Scouting ON. Make personnel decisions that matter and prepare for the "fog of war" when judging prospects! It will be your skill and keen eye for talent that will separate you from the pack. Every GM has to rely on his scout’s opinion and his own gut feeling – everyone has their own opinion about a player – no cookie-cutter ratings here! Do you like to trade? Our bustling trade environment shows that if you can't swing a trade here, you can't swing a trade anywhere! As part of our participation concept, we conduct our winter meetings and amateur draft live in our unique chat room. Shoot the breeze with your fellow GMs or lay the groundwork for that blockbuster deal. We have been fortunate to attract a quality group of friendly owners – a stable core group that has been together long enough to create an extremely rewarding environment, and now you can find out why for yourself! We're always interested in getting to know more like-minded individuals with an interest in joining in our fun and would love to hear from you. ------------------

Available Teams
Amsterdam Lions Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands 2026 Team Record : 15-30 Home Stadium : Stadium Urbanus (capacity: 55,000) (click above for team report) When the league was formed in 2007, the Amsterdam Lions were originally known as the Connecticut Nutmeggers, based in Bridgeport. Although a competitive team, it took them a decade to truly compete and notch up a winning record; doing so for the first time in 2018, backed by long-time GM Frank Esselink. Although the team gradually evolved as a regular postseason contender, the team couldn't jump over that hurdle. Then, in 2021, the team moved to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, the spiritual home of baseball in Europe, to give PEBA's only other euro-based team, the London Underground, a rival. The team was renamed the "Amsterdam Lions". The change of scenery seemed to work, and attendance topped 50,000+ fans per game at Stadium Urbanus. Still, now that PEBA expanded to include a full european and caribbean division, the Lions are still looking to capture a PEBA championship. The team is looking for that GM that wants to take on the challenge. Fun Fact: Since their arrival in Amsterdam, local fans have light-heartedly called their team the 'Nootmuskaaters', a play on the word 'nutmeg' in Dutch, a tip of the cap to the team's origins in Connecticut. ----- Florida Featherheads Location: Jacksonville, Florida 2026 Team Record : 27-18 Home Stadium : Farmer Field (capacity: 54,500) (click above for team report) . . . . . . . Writeup coming soon... . . . . . . . ----- Hartford Harpoon Location: Hartford, Connecticut 2026 Team Record : 19-26 Home Stadium : Mack Stadium (capacity: 50,000) (click above for team report) This team began life as the Omaha Cyclones when the league formed in 2007. In the early years, the team struggled to find an identity, until Grey Davidson III, founder of the wildly successful “Prospect Street Opportunities I” hedge fund, purchased the Cyclones in 2012. During their heyday, Omaha pushed for playoff contention. 2015 marked the franchise’s first and only playoff appearance while in Nebraska, and advanced all the way to the PEBA Finals. Sadly, the team slid back down the standings during the rest of the decade, as their all-offense style became less effective. Looking for a fresh start, the owners moved the team to Connecticut in 2021, to fill a void left by the relocation of their Nutmeggers (more on them above, in the Amsterdam writeup). The change of scenery seemed to have worked, and the offensive powerhouse returned to the PEBA playoffs in 2023, losing in the Division Series versus Florida. One year later, the team cut back on it's payroll and finished the season near the .500 mark, but then rebounded with new GM Dylan Krupilis, who brought the team back into the playoffs in 2025. GM Krupilis has now moved to the Toyama Wind Dancers, and the GM seat is now avaiable for this well-run and healthy franchise! ----- London Underground Location: London, England 2026 Team Record : 20-25 Home Stadium : Wembley Stadium (baseball capacity: 45,500) (click above for team report) London is one of PEBA's original 24 franchises when the league formed in 2007, and they were the first team based outside of the United States. Interesting Brits in America’s pastime was a noble endeavor that wasn't always met with success. While luxurious Wembley Stadium filled to capacity for soccer matches and concerts, the Underground were not initially able to crack the three million mark in attendance. However, in 2016, the team made waves by hiring a British GM: Nigel Laverick, who up to that point was GM of the Kuwana Steel Dragons in Japan. He was quick to put his stamp on the team, and their fortunes changed almost immediately. Laverick placed an emphasis on cultivating England-born talent in an effort to attract the attention of Londoners. Even more importantly, the franchise’s goal was to fire up European fans with the team's cadre of young pitching talent, headlined initially by Hiroyuki “Zippo” Nii, who spent a decade with the team, winning over 130 games over that span. From 2017 to 2023, London qualified for every post-season, and captured the PEBA championship in 2018. The team’s success finally resonated with locals, and they now enjoy a loyal fan base. London is now consistently in the Top 10 in attendance. In 2022, GM Laverick announced he would leave the team to take on a new challenge with another team. Over the next three seasons, the team had a string of General Managers, and lacked stability in the front office. Now the league enters the 2026 season, and London’s General Manager position is now available. Don’t miss your chance to write their next chapter and place your own stamp on the future of this unique trailblazing franchise. Fun fact: So much clean-up and grounds repair was required after a June 2008 Foo Fighters concert that a three-game home series scheduled to start two days after the concert had to be relocated to Manchester. Over the years, several Underground home games have been rescheduled to suit the needs of various sporting and musical events. ----- Okinawa Shisa Location: Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan 2026 Team Record : 20-26 Home Stadium : Shisa Stadium II (capacity: 55,000) (click above for team report) Okinawa, located on an island in a far-flung corner of southern Japan, is the most isolated franchise in the PEBA. In terms of sports, people in the capital city of Naha bleed Okinawa baseball! Reclusive 72-year-old owner Iyou Seigyoki, the founder of the Nyu Gijutsu Toiretta washlet company, is known for his eccentricity and stern temperament. He is also one of the most independently wealthy owners in Japanese baseball. Despite this, Okinawa always maintained a relatively frugal budget, which has led some fans to suggest that Seigyoki cared more about his toilets than his team. In 2015, the team's salary in the Japanese LRS ballooned to $45 million, far greater than any in team history. Thanks to the pitching of Alberto Ramon and Naomichi Nakagawa, the team became a perennial playoff contender in the LRS, making the post-season in the league's last six seasons, from 2015 to 2020. However, they never quite captured the league's crown. In 2021, the team, backed by their GM Morris Ragland, was absorbed into the larger PEBA, giving them a new challenge. As part of the deal, the LRS teams kept their rosters, and would have to now compete with the best baseball teams in the world... not an easy task. But, the perseverant little island rose to the challenge, and Mr. Seigyoki opened his pocketbook just a little bit more, to ensure the team had healthy funds to use. Thanks to the team's management and the available funds, the team clawed their way back to competitiveness, producing a winning record in 2024. The team is now well-established in the league, and has a healthy mid-range budget to work with. With GM Ragland's appointment as PEBA's new Commissioner after the 2025 season, the team is looking for a new GM that can take them to the playoffs and become the first former Japanese LRS team to capture professional baseball's ultimate prize! Fun Fact: The wild and unpredictable weather in the Okinawa region of Japan is legendary. In order to remedy this, the team is now one of only five PEBA teams to play their games inside a retractable roof stadium (the others being Fargo, London, Reno and Shin Seiki). -----
