At first I had player 2 in a landslide. But after going over the numbers a little more deeply I'm leaning towards player 3. Other than ERA his stats match very well if not favorably to the other 2. This leads me to believe his ERA might be a bit inflated so I'll throw that out and hand it to pitcher number 3.
I wonder how this poll would have been different if you didn't include ERA?

Of the remaining 4 the WAR values were so close that other considerations could justify the choice. One possible exception was Dickey/Kershaw in 2012. Once again the voters seemed reluctant to give Kershaw 2 in a row. The win leader has won 7 of 14 Cy Young awards since 2007. Of that 7 at least 3 are the obvious choice by WAR and 2 or 3 others are reasonable based on close WAR and other factors. Based on this I'd say that 2 or 3 of the 14 Cy Young winners over the last 7 years have been disputable Check BR for the data. I honestly think player 2 should win in OOTP and would win in real life. Those stats for player 2 are very similar to Clayton Kershaw last season. I don't think anyone would say that those extra wins nor the home/away splits make player 3 the better pitcher than the pitcher with the sub 2 ERA. I know player 3 leads in other things like strikeouts and IP, but player 2 was just plain better at allowing less runs (though probably had a very low babip which is only a sign that he'll regress next season.

What about WAR. My eyes say number 2 will have the most WAR but by how much over 3?

Thanks. Given that then I pick 3.
